The Obagi Nu-Derm system has four basic steps:  Prepare, correct, stimulate and protect.

Prepare:  Foaming Gel & Toner.
The prepare step cleans and tones the skin, impurities, dead skin cells and bacteria while preparing it for the steps that follow.  This step is accomplished without skin irritation.  At the completion of this step, the skin is returned to its normal PH level.  Your Transformation begins with a soap-free cleanser that gently removes impurities, oil and makeup to leave skin clean, fresh and ready for the next step.

Correct:  Clear & Exfoderm.
The correct step works on the epidermis.  It makes the stratum corneum soft and compact and increases the rate of mitosos to improve that turnover of healthy, new keratinocytes.  Melancytes are also regulated to produce melanin more evenly and effectively.  An essential component of the Therapeutic Cascade, Clear is formulated with 4% hydroquinone to correct uneven skin color and age spots. (Rx only) 2.0 oz (57 g).  Formulated with alpha hydroxy acid, it exfoliates dead surface skin cells and aids in penetration of treatment ingredients in the System.  2.0 oz (57 g)

Stimulate: Blender & Tretinoin.
The stimulate step focuses on the dermis.  A stimulated dermis produces finer collagen, better elastin and overall skin health.  Regular usage promotes correction at the cellular level for even skin color. Specially formulated for use with Tretinoin cream. (Rx only)

Protect:  Sunfader.
The protect step prevents UVA and UVB rays from damaging the epidermis and dermis.  Excessive sun exposure without protection increases the chance of skin cancer and produces photodamage that necessitates aggressive treatment with creams and procedures.
